Motlow beats Southwest TN 7-0 in TCCAA Opener

The Motlow Bucks out-shot Southwest Tennessee 43-1 on their way to a dominant 7-0 win over the Saluqis Thursday afternoon in Collierville, Tennessee.

The contest was the TCCAA conference opener for both teams. Motlow, the defending TCCAA regular season and tournament champion, has now won eight consecutive conference games over the last two years, including three shutouts of Southwest Tennessee.

Six different Bucks put goals into the net, including two by Maya Thiele and one each by Cheyenne Watson, Kristen Gasaway, Grace Murray, Alysa Benton, and Emily Fisher.

The Motlow goalkeepers, Lucy Riddle, Molley McElhiney, and Leigha Resendiz combined for the shutout. Motlow had now allowed only one goal in its previous four contests.

In addition to her goal, Benton added two assists. Other assists came from Madisen Hodges, Diana Ramirez, Murray, and Janai Hosley.

The Bucks dominated in corner kicks 14-1.
