The Motlow Bucks Women's Soccer team completed its fourth consecutive shutout Thursday with a 9-0 win over TCCAA rival Dyersburg State at Franklin County High School in Winchester.
Motlow (5-2, 2-0) scored five goals in the first half and four in the second. Seven different Bucks scored, with Kristen Gasaway and Ellie Kirk leading the way with two goals each.
The Bucks have outscored the opposition 22-0 during four consecutive wins. Goalkeepers Lucy Riddle, Molley McElhiney, and Leigha Resendiz once again combined for the shutout.
Alysa Benton got the scoring started with an unassisted goal at the 9:26 mark. Kirk followed that up with her first goal of the evening, coming at the 15:45 mark on an assist from Alexis McMath.
Just one minute later Cheyenne Watson took a pass from Kirk and found the Dyersburg net to give Motlow a 3-0 lead at the 16:49 mark.
The first-half barrage didn't stop there. Kirk scored her second goal on an unassisted corner kick at the 32:09 mark, and Gasaway scored her first goal on an assist from Grace Murray at the 35:01 mark to give Motlow the 5-0 lead at intermission.
Second-half goals came from Katherine Clark on an assist from Gasaway at 45:23, Gasaway on an assist from McMath at 57:25, Emily Fisher scored on an assist from Madisen Hodges at 65:19, and Hodges compled the scoring on an assist from Benton at 68:04.
The Bucks out-shot the Eagles 45-2 and led in corner kicks 4-1. Riddle had two saves on the only two shots on goal the opposition managed to attempt.
Motlow will travel to Columbia State (5-2-1, 2-0) on Thursday, Sept. 22, for a 7 p.m. match. The Chargers are also unbeaten and unscored upon in conference play.
